My First Project was a 1968 VW beetle

I remember my dad driving a 3 series box shape BMW, actually several, consecutively, and thinking that my first car was going to be the same, I was wrong. Came home the one day and he said that he had bought me a car.  When I had a look, it was a 1968 VW Beetle, with holes through the sides of the door, and a motor was full of grass! Boy was I shocked, but enjoyed every bit of restoring it.  I had it sprayed blue by my one uncle, and the motor repaired by the other. Unfortunately it got written off the first day it hit the road by some lady whose hi-heel shoe got stuck on the accelerator!  “Bummer!”  Don’t have any pics of the finish bugger though.

My Second project was a 1972 Beetle

R7000 later and the yellow bugger was born! This beetle was truly a “Bang for the buck” project. I had just finished school and didn’t have cash to spend on it, so I went around and collected whatever I could from my family and friends to get it going.  I got my wheels from an uncle, the audio material from my cousin (really over done *lol) and a few car audio items from other family members. It had a 1.6L beetle motor which pretty much got me from point A to point B.

My third project was MK1 Golf, 1985

This car took me 2 years to build, with the help of Deo’s Design in Springs; we were able to chop the roof. This was a never ending story but it looked good when it was finally done.

My fourth Project was a 1996 Civic V-Tec

Once again, help from Deo’s Design made it possible for my V-Tec to look as good as it did. I had this baby from 1999-2002 and she never gave me any trouble what so ever.  I think it was one of my best buys.

Nothing done as yet, still busy organizing all the parts to refurbish the suspension before I can source a V8 Big Block motor and send for panel beating.  Will keep you posted on the progress.
